BREAKING: 7 OSUN APC GOVERNORSHIP ASPIRANTS STEP DOWN FOR OYEBAMJI AFTER MEETING TINUBU

Seven governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have withdrawn from the race to rally behind Bola Oyebamiji as the party’s consensus candidate ahead of the upcoming primary.

Their decision followed a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, convened to ease internal tensions and reduce the number of contestants before the primary election.

Aspirants Step Aside

Those who stepped down include:

  • Former Deputy Governor Benedict Olugboyega Alabi

  • Dotun Babayemi

  • Akin Ogunbiyi

  • Senator Babajide Omoworare

  • Kunle Adegoke (SAN)

  • Babatunde Haketer Oralusi

  • Mulikat Abiola Jimoh

However, Senator Iyiola Omisore, who has been vocal about his disqualification from the race, did not attend the meeting. He earlier dismissed the screening panel’s decision as “a joke taken too far.”
