A man identified as a bandit commander has appeared in a new video threatening Nigeria’s top political and military leaders, including senior security officers, state governors, and President Bola Tinubu.
Wearing what looked like a military jacket, the militant boasted about previous kidnappings in Kebbi and Niger states, claiming those attacks were “just the beginning.” He said recent arrests of suspects had not weakened their network and warned that his group plans to target military officers next.
He went as far as claiming they could abduct a governor or even the President, insisting that security agencies have failed to protect citizens. He told Nigerians to “return to God” for safety, adding that the government cannot guarantee their security.
The video has heightened concerns over worsening insecurity in the North, especially after recent school attacks in Kebbi and Niger states. During these raids, gunmen kidnapped students and teachers, operating for long periods without resistance.
Just days earlier, terrorists attacked Maga Comprehensive Girls’ Secondary School in Kebbi State, abducting several female students and killing one staff member. These repeated assaults on schools have increased fear among parents and communities already facing rising violence.
