“Ensuring Political Integrity: Addressing Coalition Agendas and Distractions to Governance” By the National Patriots.

When aggrieved opposition politicians come together to form a coalition, one is left questioning their true intentions and sense of patriotism. If they are individuals of integrity, with a genuine desire to see the country thrive, why are they not actively offering constructive suggestions to the government in power, especially in a public forum? A coalition of unlikely allies, seemingly united only by the desire to seize power and further their personal agendas, strikes as not only self-serving but also unpatriotic.

Given that the current government has shown a willingness to engage with ideas that support reform policies, such a coalition appears unnecessary and counterproductive. Political campaigns for 2027 have yet to officially begin, and any event with political undertones, especially those aimed at destabilizing the government, undermines national progress and distracts from governance.

Security agencies must step in to prevent further escalation of such political maneuvering. These political figures should be invited for a cautionary meeting, supported by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to remind them of the legal restrictions on campaign activities. A clear message should be sent: any political activity outside the official campaign period will face sanctions, with no provision for fines as an alternative.

The need for firm leadership is paramount, as it is evident that some opponents of the current administration are intent on creating distractions and hindering the government’s ability to govern effectively. Strong measures must be taken to prevent this and ensure that the focus remains on serving the nation’s interests rather than personal ambitions.
