Gen. Christopher Musa May Replace Badaru As Minister Of Defense
Barring any last-minute changes, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to nominate the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, as the new Minister of Defence following the resignation of Badaru Abubakar.
Mr. Abubakar stepped down from the position on Monday, citing health-related issues.
Sources with direct knowledge of the ongoing discussions revealed that President Tinubu has already finalized plans to appoint General Musa as his replacement, responding to internal demands for a seasoned military figure to be brought into the cabinet.

It was further learned that the former CDS met with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on Monday evening.
Musa was seen entering the State House at about 7:03 p.m., escorted by a senior security officer to the President’s office.

He arrived dressed in a dark-green traditional outfit with elbow-length sleeves.
This marks General Musa’s first public meeting with the President since his retirement on October 24, 2025.
