At least four people, including three farmers and a herder, have been killed in fresh attacks in Barkin Ladi and Riyom Local Government Areas of Plateau State.

The attacks occurred just days after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu visited the state following the Anguwan Rukuba killings.
Leaders of the Berom Youth Moulders Association (BYM) and the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) reported that the farmers were attacked on Sunday night in Pwomol village, Barkin Ladi, while the herder was killed on Monday morning in Jol, Riyom.

Rwang Tengwong, BYM spokesperson, said the assailants targeted vigilante youth who were guarding the community. One person was injured and is receiving treatment.
Dalyop Mwantiri, BYM national president, condemned the attacks and called for a thorough investigation. He praised the swift response of Operation Enduring Peace and urged residents to stay vigilant.

Ibrahim Babayo, MACBAN chairman, confirmed the herder’s death, explaining that the victim was ambushed alongside his younger brother, who managed to escape. The body was recovered from Sector 6, Makera, and the incident has been reported to the DSS and Operation Safe Haven.
