The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State has formed a high-powered committee led by Governor Bala Mohammed to provide strategic guidance for the party and its aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking after a closed-door stakeholders’ meeting at the Government House in Bauchi, PDP State Chairman Samaila Burga said the committee’s formation was a key outcome of discussions, particularly given ongoing internal disagreements affecting the party nationally.

“The meeting was focused on establishing our stance regarding the upcoming primaries and ensuring our people’s position is clear for the 2027 elections,” Burga explained.
He added that the committee, which includes senior stakeholders from all local government areas, has one week to finalize its work and submit recommendations.

“The committee, under the leadership of His Excellency Governor Bala Mohammed, will examine all necessary measures to ensure a smooth contest in 2027. Its responsibilities include ensuring continuity in governance and maintaining our hold in assemblies from the national to state levels. Our goal is to field strong candidates and secure victories,” Burga stated.

This announcement coincides with the PDP national convention taking place in Abuja at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, which includes notable figures such as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
