Kola Ologbondiyan, former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has officially announced his resignation from the party.
Ologbondiyan shared the news on his X account on Saturday morning, revealing that he had informed the PDP chairman of his Okekoko Ward 09 in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Kogi State, about his decision to leave, citing personal reasons.

In a letter titled “NOTIFICATION OF MEMBERSHIP WITHDRAWAL,” which he also shared online, Ologbondiyan stated:
“Let me start by expressing my gratitude to you and other leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the opportunities I have had to serve the party and our nation, Nigeria.

After reviewing my engagement within the PDP, I have concluded that, for personal reasons, it is necessary for me to step aside. I have therefore decided to formally withdraw my membership of the PDP, effective immediately.”

Ologbondiyan, a Kogi-born journalist, also served as a media aide to David Mark, the current Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), during Mark’s tenure as Senate President. He has not yet disclosed which political party he plans to join following his departure from the PDP.
