KING CHARLE BOMBSHELL AS HIS FORMER AIDE SAYS US STATE VISIT SHOULD NOT GO AHEAD

A former senior aide to King Charles III has suggested that the monarch’s planned state visit to the United States should be postponed while the country remains involved in a conflict with Iran.

Sir Peter Westmacott, who previously served as British ambassador to the US and later as the King’s deputy private secretary, warned that proceeding with the visit during the ongoing tensions could prove “problematic,” given the heightened geopolitical situation in the Middle East.

Reports indicate that King Charles and Queen Camilla are expected to travel to the United States at the end of next month as part of activities marking the 250th anniversary of American independence.

However, although the visit has not been officially confirmed, it has already sparked debate following recent military strikes by the US and Israel against Iran.

Sir Peter, who served as British ambassador in Washington, D.C. between 2012 and 2016, expressed concerns that such a high-profile diplomatic visit could become politically sensitive while tensions remain high.

According to him, the situation in the Middle East could complicate the symbolism and diplomatic significance of the visit.

The reported trip is expected to commemorate the historic milestone of the United States’ independence, a major event that marks 250 years since the country’s founding.

However, critics argue that the timing may not be ideal given the ongoing geopolitical tensions and the potential diplomatic implications for the British Royal Family.

While discussions around the visit continue, no final decision has yet been announced regarding whether the trip will proceed as planned or be postponed.
