Former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, is set to join Muslims for the Eid-el-Fitr prayer at Miller Road in Kano on Friday. The prayer is scheduled for 8:00 a.m., according to Dr. Yusuf Mata, a former Commissioner for Science and Technology in the state, who shared the information on his verified Facebook account.

Dr. Mata prayed for the acceptance of Ramadan worship and encouraged Muslims to remain steadfast in their faith, saying, “We pray that Allah accepts our acts of worship and grants us peace and blessings.”
The event comes amid rising political tension in Kano following Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s defection from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Kofar Mata, along with four other commissioners, resigned from Yusuf’s administration to reaffirm loyalty to the Kwankwasiyya Movement and Kwankwaso.
Observers suggest the planned Eid prayer at Miller Road may serve as a symbolic show of unity among Kwankwasiyya loyalists as the state navigates evolving political alignments.
