Tension has risen across multiple communities in Kwara State following a series of coordinated attacks by suspected terrorists on Agbeku in Ifelodun Local Government Area, Memudu in Irepodun, and Obate in Asa Local Government Area.
A source told SaharaReporters on Sunday that the armed men invaded Agbeku, killing one resident and abducting several others.

“One person has been killed and some people have been kidnapped,” the source said, noting that fear has gripped the community as the attackers were believed to still be nearby.
In another incident, terrorists reportedly abducted three residents of Memudu village in Irepodun, just a day after the kidnapping of the traditional ruler of Bayagan community, the Ojibara of Bayagan, Alhaji Kamilu Salami, who was seized from his farm on Saturday.
Similarly, a woman identified as Mrs. Rasheedat Suleiman was abducted later that same night in Obate village along Bala in Asa Local Government Area.

A resident explained that she was taken around 8 p.m. by about 20 armed men who stormed the community.
In a voice note obtained by SaharaReporters, her distraught husband narrated the moment the attackers came.
“My wife was in the bathroom when they arrived. I was on my phone when I suddenly saw them. I hid and watched them take her away. I couldn’t come out—they would have captured me too,” he said.
Sources confirmed that the kidnappers have contacted the family, demanding a ransom of N20 million for her release.

Residents in the affected areas are appealing to security agencies and the Kwara State Government for urgent intervention, as kidnapping cases continue to rise across the state.
Just days earlier, SaharaReporters had reported that another resident was abducted in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area—barely one week after the release of 38 kidnapped worshippers.
It was gathered that about four attackers ambushed a farmer along the Koro road and dragged him away. The man, identified as Annas Aasanru, was seized by the gunmen who were armed with AK-47 rifles and cutlasses.

A community leader, speaking anonymously due to the sensitivity of the situation, confirmed the incident and said the community remains on edge despite recent negotiations that secured the release of earlier victims.
“The armed men came with cutlasses and AK-47 rifles, invaded the farmland, and kidnapped Annas Aasanru, an indigene of Eruku, before escaping into the bush,” the source said.
