Morocco 2025: Goldberg fuels ‘AFCON Magic’ with fans for Super Eagles

Goldberg Lager Beer has lauded the Super Eagles following their 2–1 win over Tanzania in Fez, a result that earned Nigeria maximum points in their opening Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) match and lifted the spirits of fans nationwide.

While the victory marked a strong start for the team, Goldberg highlighted that the moment also reflects the broader Nigerian football culture—the passion, unity, and shared energy of fans—which is central to their “Our Beat, Our Gold” campaign.

“Our Beat, Our Gold celebrates Nigerian football beyond the 90 minutes of play,” said Kunle Aroyehun, Senior Brand Manager at Goldberg. “It captures the conversations, humour, emotions, and the way the game unites us. Football in Nigeria is lived, not just watched, and that collective energy is truly golden.”

The Super Eagles will next face Tunisia in a crucial Group C fixture. Goldberg’s focus, however, remains on the fans, whose energy continues to drive the team. As the official beer and sponsor of the Super Eagles, Goldberg has created “AFCON magic” through fan viewing centres that bring supporters together in celebration.

Fan hubs have been activated across Lagos and nearby communities, including Campos Stadium (Lagos Island), Teslim Balogun Stadium (Surulere), Rowe Sport Centre (Yaba), Abesan, Mushin, Agege Stadium, and Ikorodu. These centres combine live football, music, entertainment, and fan engagement to recreate the stadium atmosphere and make each game a communal experience.

“Football has always united Nigerians, especially around the Super Eagles,” Aroyehun said. “This campaign shifts the spotlight to the fans—the ones who show up emotionally every time—and gives their passion a platform.”

The Our Beat, Our Gold campaign also features the Golden Clan, a group of cultural voices that amplifies fan stories, banter, and experiences surrounding Nigerian football.

“The Golden Clan tells the real football stories—the reactions, the moments, and the excitement that make supporting the Super Eagles special,” Aroyehun explained. “They bring to life what fans already do naturally.”

He added: “Our Beat, Our Gold celebrates the way Nigerians love football—not just the match, but the conversations, shouts, and collective energy. That rhythm, to us, is pure gold.”

As Nigeria prepares for its next match against Tunisia, Goldberg pledges to continue celebrating fans and their shared passion.

“Whether at home, a viewing centre, or on the street, your energy matters,” Aroyehun said. “This rhythm, this community, this passion—it’s gold.”
