The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, on December 10, 2025, took a significant step in advancing his leadership vision by inaugurating a high-level Operational and Safety Audit Committee for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).

The committee—made up of seasoned retired officers and technical experts—has been tasked with conducting an independent assessment of critical operational, engineering, and armament units to boost safety, accountability, and overall performance.

Air Marshal Aneke emphasized that operational integrity, strategic effectiveness, and the protection of personnel remain key pillars of his command philosophy.
The committee’s extensive review will help expose operational gaps and recommend improvements aimed at strengthening professionalism, enhancing mission readiness, and fostering a culture of continuous development across the Air Force.

He further instructed the committee to design flexible audit guidelines based on global aviation best practices, ensuring transparency, objectivity, and collaboration during the entire audit process.
This move marks the start of a broader reform effort to reinforce every branch and command within the Nigerian Air Force.
