#NALDA PARTNERS NCFRMI FOR LANDMARK RENEWED HOPE RESTORSTION PROJECT (RHRP) FOR IDPS.

In a significant step toward economic stability and empowerment for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) has partnered with the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) to launch the Renewed Hope Restoration Project (RHRR). The project aligns with NCFRMI’s durable solutions strategy for poverty alleviation and financial empowerment.

Speaking at the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony, NCFRMI’s Federal Commissioner, Hon. Tijani Ahmed, described the partnership as a turning point in addressing the challenges faced by IDPs in Nigeria. He highlighted that the initiative supports President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and called on the public to rally behind the project for the benefit of IDPs, host communities, and Nigerians at large.\

Executive Secretary of NALDA, Mr. Cornelius Adebayo, elaborated on the MoU’s objectives, stating that it focuses on providing seeds, tools, and resources essential for fostering self-reliance among refugees, migrants, and IDPs.

The Hon. Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, represented by Mr. Valentine Ezulu, Director of Humanitarian Affairs, commended both NCFRMI and NALDA for the collaboration. He assured continued ministry support for initiatives aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable populations.

The partnership builds on the success of previous initiatives, such as the REHAEPI agricultural empowerment project launched on July 27, 2024. This earlier effort, conducted in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, cultivated 500 hectares of land across Nasarawa, Plateau, and Borno states, involving 1,000 IDPs and refugee farmers.

The Renewed Hope Restoration Project underscores the federal government’s commitment to empowering displaced persons and fostering long-term solutions to their challenges.
