The Nigerian military has intensified operations against bandits and kidnappers across Kwara State, targeting hideouts in Ifelodun, Edu, and Patigi Local Government Areas. Coordinated airstrikes, supported by ground troop maneuvers, have destroyed multiple camps and neutralized several suspects, leaving the criminal gangs in disarray.

According to preliminary reports, the operations hit notorious bandit hideouts at Baba Sango (Ifelodun), Gbugbu forest (Edu), and Lata community (Patigi). Many of the bandits sustained injuries while attempting to flee, while others were completely displaced from their strongholds.

The offensive aims to dismantle the operational bases, leadership structures, and logistics networks of criminal gangs that have long terrorized communities along the Kwara–Niger axis. Military sources confirmed that the campaign has successfully destroyed several camps and inflicted significant losses on the criminals.

However, authorities warned that informants and collaborators within local communities continue to hamper efforts by leaking information on troop movements. Military officials urged residents to remain vigilant and report anyone aiding criminal elements. Community leaders have been called upon to educate locals on the dangers of shielding criminals, emphasizing that such actions prolong insecurity and put lives at risk.

As operations continue, troops are maintaining pressure on fleeing terrorists while expanding clearance missions into surrounding forests and border areas. Security officials assured the public of their commitment to restoring peace and urged citizens to provide timely and credible intelligence to ensure lasting success.
