#Nigerian Troops Deal Major Blow to Bello Turji’s Terror Network, Eliminate Key Commanders

In a decisive operation, Nigerian military troops under Operation FANSAN YAMMA have neutralized Aminu Kanawa, the deputy to notorious terrorist leader Bello Turji, along with seven other key commanders. The week-long offensive in the North West dealt a significant blow to Turji’s network, responsible for numerous attacks and kidnappings across the region.

Key Commanders Eliminated

Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, announced the successful operation on Wednesday in Abuja. Among the slain commanders were Abu Dan Shehu, Jabbi Dogo, Dan Kane, Basiru Yellow, Kabiru Gebe, Bello Buba, and Dan Inna Kahon-Saniya-Yafi-Bahaushe. Turji’s younger brother, Dosso, and another ally, Danbokolo, were reportedly injured during the onslaught.

The troops neutralized over 24 terrorists fleeing from Turji’s camp in Gebe and Isa Local Government Areas of Sokoto State, as well as Gidan Rijiya in Shinkafi LGA, Zamfara State. Additionally, Suleiman, a loyalist of the late notorious terrorist Halilu Sububu, was killed while attempting to lead reinforcements to rescue Turji’s camp.

A Critical Blow to Terrorist Operations

According to Major General Buba, the operation struck at the heart of Turji’s network, significantly degrading its military capabilities. “The death of Bello Turji’s second-in-command, close allies, and commanders is a significant blow to the terrorist network in the North West,” he stated.

These terrorists had been responsible for numerous attacks across Zamfara and Sokoto States, particularly in Zurmi, Shinkafi, Isa, and Sabon Birni LGAs.

Turji Still at Large

Despite these victories, Bello Turji himself continues to evade capture. His attacks have left hundreds dead and caused widespread destruction in North West Nigeria. The military has made eliminating Turji one of its primary objectives and is committed to maintaining pressure on his network.

Military’s Resolve

Major General Buba reiterated the troops’ determination to ensure the safety and security of citizens, stating, “Troops are not relenting until these terrorists are completely destroyed.”

This operation underscores the Nigerian military’s ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and restore peace to affected regions in the country.
