NIGERIA’S SECURITY IS NOT ONE MAN’S RESPONSIBILITY; ALL OF US ARE IN IT – TINUBU

President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to continue practising the values of discipline, compassion, and unity cultivated during Ramadan, stressing that national peace and security cannot be left to the government alone.

Speaking after the Eid-el-Fitr prayers at the Dodan Barracks Eid Ground in Lagos, the President urged citizens to carry forward the lessons of the holy month, including charity, love, and good neighbourliness.

“We thank Almighty God for guiding us through Ramadan, but the lessons and sacrifices must not end with the month. The spirit of giving, peace, and love for one another must continue,” he said.

Tinubu emphasised that ensuring security is a shared responsibility, calling on Nigerians to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.

“The stability and security of this nation is not the responsibility of one man alone. We are all involved. We must be ready to provide useful information about suspicious movements and activities,” he added.

He also encouraged citizens to obey the law and embrace peaceful coexistence, describing Nigeria as a diverse nation that must remain united despite religious and ethnic differences.

According to the President, both Muslims and Christians serve the same God and should reflect that unity in their daily interactions.

“Our diversity is our strength. We must accept one another as brothers and sisters. Whether through Islam or Christianity, we all serve one God,” he said.

Tinubu further called for continued prayers for peace and stability, urging Nigerians to support one another and care for the vulnerable in society.

Eid-el-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, a sacred period observed by Muslims worldwide through fasting, prayer, and acts of charity.
