NO MORE CORNER-CORNER’: FUBARA DROPS SONG FOR TINUBU AFTER DUMPING PDP FOR APC (VIDEO)

Fubara Sings Pro-Tinubu Anthem After Dumping PDP for APC

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has deepened his political shift by composing and singing a chant in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu shortly after announcing his move from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

A viral video circulating online shows the governor leading a crowd in a catchy refrain:
“If you dey support Tinubu, no follow corner-corner. We support Tinubu, we no dey follow corner-corner.”

Fubara officially defected to the APC on Tuesday, December 10, 2025, during a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

Explaining his decision, the governor described his defection as an act of appreciation for President Tinubu’s steady backing during the political turmoil that engulfed Rivers State in late 2023.

“We cannot claim to support Mr President from the sidelines,” he said. “Today, after all we’ve endured together, we have decided to openly join the APC.”

His switch comes on the heels of a mass defection that saw 15 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly—including Speaker Martin Amaewhule—cross over to the APC.

Just two days earlier, the entire 32-member assembly had passed a vote of confidence in President Tinubu and encouraged him to seek another term in office.

Fubara’s exit reduces the PDP’s hold on governorship positions, leaving it with six governors. Meanwhile, Taraba governor Agbu Kefas and Plateau governor Caleb Mutfwang are also reportedly considering joining the ruling party.
