#Ogun Assembly Approves N1.054 Trillion Budget for 2025 with Adjustments to 21 Agencies’ Estimates

The Ogun State House of Assembly has passed the 2025 Appropriation Bill totaling N1,054,542,020,147. The bill, initially presented by Governor Dapo Abiodun 20 days earlier, underwent slight adjustments to the recurrent expenditures of 21 agencies, capital expenditures of five agencies, and revenue targets of two agencies.

The approval followed the presentation of the report by Hon. Musefiu Lamidi, Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation. The report was adopted after a motion by Hon. Lamidi, seconded by his Deputy, Hon. Wahab Haruna, and supported unanimously during the plenary session presided over by Speaker Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide at the Assembly Complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The bill was reviewed clause by clause in the Committee of the Whole House. After the third reading, conducted by the Clerk/Head of Legislative Service, Mr. Sakiru Adebakin, the Speaker directed that the clean copy be forwarded to the Governor for assent.

Key adjustments included:

  • Ministry of Budget and Planning: Increased from N1.475 billion to N1.902 billion (+N427 million).
  • Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives: Increased from N1.780 billion to N2.499 billion (+N719 million).
  • State Ministry of Health: Increased from N3.806 billion to N4.116 billion (+N310 million).
  • Teaching Service Commission: Increased from N34.412 billion to N35.912 billion (+N1.5 billion).
  • Ogun State Security Network (Amotekun): Increased from N765 million to N1.575 billion (+N810 million).
  • State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE): Increased from N1.347 billion to N1.372 billion (+N25 million).

  • State Hospital, Sokenu Abeokuta: Increased from N3.208 billion to N3.348 billion (+N140 million).
  • State Environment Protection Agency: Increased from N252 million to N262 million (+N10 million).
  • State Library Board: Increased from N147 million to N177 million (+N30 million).

The adjustments reflect the Assembly’s commitment to aligning the budget with the state’s developmental priorities.
