Communities from oil and gas-producing areas across Nigeria have publicly declared their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, praising his administration for policies they say have driven progress in their regions.
The announcement came during a press briefing in Abuja ahead of the coalition’s official unveiling. Benjamin Style Tamaranebi, Director General of the Coalition of Oil and Gas Producing Communities in Nigeria (COGIN), explained that the group was formed to advocate for the sector and support policies that benefit its members.

Tamaranebi highlighted the administration’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” as a key factor behind the coalition’s endorsement, noting that its reforms have already delivered tangible results across the country. He emphasized that continuity of these policies is essential to achieve their full potential.
Looking ahead to the 2027 elections, Tamaranebi stated that the coalition would mobilize support nationwide, claiming they could deliver 10 million votes in favor of Tinubu. He also encouraged the president to seek a second term, arguing that four years is not enough to fully consolidate the reforms and initiatives already set in motion.
