#Oshodi-Isolo Council to Rename Liverpool Road in Honor of Seyi Tinubu

The Oshodi-Isolo Local Government in Lagos State has announced plans to rename Liverpool Road after Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, in recognition of his contributions to youth and community development.

The council’s chairman, Kehinde Oloyede, revealed this in a statement shared via the council’s X (formerly Twitter) handle by his media aide. Oloyede emphasized that the decision highlights Seyi Tinubu’s “immense contributions to the betterment of the community.”

Strategic Importance of Liverpool Road

Liverpool Road is a critical thoroughfare in Oshodi-Isolo, serving as a major link between the Oshodi/Apapa Expressway and the international airport. According to the council, the road’s recent transformation underscores its strategic importance.

Oloyede explained that before the reconstruction, the road was notorious for criminal activities:
“The road was a lion’s den, as no one could dare pass it either during the day or at night. Upon assuming office, we chased away the criminal elements who had used the road as a hideout,” he said.

Renaming Ceremony

The council disclosed that the road has been reconstructed and is set to be commissioned and renamed in Seyi Tinubu’s honor. The official date for the ceremony will be announced soon.

This decision has sparked conversations about the legacy of Seyi Tinubu and the ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and security in Oshodi-Isolo.
