A total of 20,000 applicants are currently participating in the zonal general aptitude test for the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) 2025 Basic Military Training Course (BMTC 46) recruitment exercise.
The exercise is being held across 15 zonal centres nationwide, including Sokoto, Minna, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, Maiduguri, Yola, Makurdi, Jos, Ilorin, Ipetu-Ijesa, Enugu, Benin, Port Harcourt, and Ikeja.

Speaking on Sunday, NAF spokesperson Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame said the widespread national participation reflects the Air Force’s commitment to inclusivity, equal opportunity, and a transparent, merit-based recruitment process that allows qualified Nigerians from all regions to compete fairly.

He added: “The strong turnout demonstrates the enduring confidence of Nigerian youths in the Nigerian Air Force as a professional, disciplined, and patriotic institution. It also highlights NAF’s determination to attract capable, motivated, and resilient young Nigerians, especially at a time when the country’s security landscape requires strengthened manpower to support ongoing internal security and national defence operations.”

Ejodame further stated that the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has emphasized that the recruitment process will be guided by fairness, integrity, and strict adherence to established standards.

“The aptitude test is a crucial step in building a mission-ready and motivated force. Nigerians can be assured of NAF’s continued dedication to safeguarding lives and property and supporting internal security operations, in line with its constitutional responsibilities,” he said.

He concluded by affirming the Air Force’s commitment to selecting candidates purely on merit, noting that the quality of personnel is essential for operational effectiveness and the successful fulfillment of its constitutional mandate.
