The Lagos State Police Command has intensified its operations against criminal groups, resulting in the recovery of nine luxury vehicles and several weapons during recent raids across the state.

Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, revealed the development during a press briefing at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja, noting that new security measures deployed for the ember months have significantly curbed crime and boosted public safety.
According to the police chief, many of the vehicles were stolen by entrusted drivers and car wash workers, but prompt police intervention led to their recovery before the suspects could smuggle them out of Lagos.

Among the retrieved vehicles are a white Toyota Hilux, white Range Rover SUV, black Toyota Land Cruiser, silver Lexus GX 460, silver Honda CR-V, grey Toyota Corolla, another Toyota Corolla with registration number JJ AS 87 JJ, a Toyota Highlander and a Boxer Bajaj motorcycle.
The command also displayed recovered weapons and items, including four locally made pistols, a single-barrel shotgun, live ammunition, a machete, a fabricated firearm, an assault dagger, a battle axe, charms, and $4,000 in counterfeit foreign currency.

“These successes show the effectiveness of our proactive strategies. Since September, Lagos has not recorded any major security breach. We are firmly in control,” Jimoh stated.

He attributed the improved security situation to stronger community policing, increased patrol convoys, show-of-force operations and better cooperation between residents and security agencies.
