Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has officially sworn in the 2024/25 Youth Ambassadors during a ceremony at the State House in Alausa.
HEADLINENEWS.NEWS reports that among the newly appointed ambassadors are Obadare Adenekan, the State Youth Ambassador, and Faizah Adediran, Ikeja Divisional Ambassador. Other Divisional Ambassadors include Bukola Aladesulu (Badagry), Dolapo Oshikoya (Ikorodu), Mohammed Sheriff (Lagos), and Divine Favour Apata (Epe).
In his remarks, Governor Sanwo-Olu reiterated his commitment to empowering young people by providing opportunities for them to contribute to the development of the state.
He emphasized the importance of youth involvement in decision-making processes and assured the new ambassadors of their critical role in advocating for youth-related policies, fostering social change, and encouraging inclusivity across all sectors.
The Honourable Commissioner for the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Abubakre Ogunlende, praised the new Youth Ambassadors for their dedication and urged them to exhibit values of leadership, integrity, and excellence as they begin their roles.
On her part, the Permanent Secretary, Pharm. (Mrs.) Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu said, “These young leaders have been entrusted with the responsibility of driving youth-led initiatives, fostering innovation and ensuring that the voices of Lagos youths are heard in governance and community development.”
The event was attended by officials of the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, members of the Lagos State Youth Parliament, members of the Nigerian Youth Parliament and the Lagos State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria.
