Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo has announced a N10 million bounty for anyone who provides information leading to the arrest of the gunmen responsible for the recent attack during a burial ceremony in Ihiala.
Details of the Attack
The incident, which occurred on Monday, claimed seven lives, including two security personnel. The attack disrupted the burial ceremony of the late Bridget Akanma Onuchukwu in Umuike, Ubahuekwem Ihiala.
Soludo’s Response
Deeply saddened by the tragedy, Governor Soludo visited the family of the deceased to offer his condolences. He expressed his resolve to ensure that the perpetrators face justice, stating:
“We will not rest until the perpetrators of this heinous crime are apprehended. All of them will pay for it.”
He further reassured residents of Ihiala of their safety, highlighting ongoing efforts to strengthen the state’s security network.
Security Initiatives
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo revealed that the government is actively pursuing leads on the attackers. He also emphasized that anyone providing credible information would be duly rewarded.
“We are on their trail as we speak. Ihiala’s security situation is being prioritized, and new measures will be unveiled soon,” he added.
