SULE LAMIDO BACKS INEC ON ADC LEADERSHIP CRISIS, SAYS ATIKU, OBI, KWANKWASO ARE POLITICALLY DISPLACED

Former Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, has backed the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw recognition of the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Speaking after a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders’ meeting in Dutse, Lamido described opposition figures who recently aligned with the ADC as “politically displaced.” He criticised notable politicians such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso for leaving their original political platforms.

Lamido argued that their defection signals an inability to manage and resolve internal challenges within their respective parties, raising concerns about their leadership strength.

The controversy follows INEC’s recent decision to suspend recognition of the ADC’s leadership, which had David Mark as national chairman and Rauf Aregbesola as national secretary. The move was based on a ruling by the Appeal Court and a legal dispute over the party’s leadership position.
