The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, revealed on Friday that notorious terrorist leader Bello Turji has indicated his willingness to surrender.
Speaking on Politics Today on Channels Television, General Musa explained that recent military operations have dismantled Turji’s network, eliminating his second-in-command and other key lieutenants. These actions have reportedly left the terrorist kingpin weakened and forced to release many of his subordinates.
“He is beginning to say he doesn’t want anything anymore and is ready to surrender,” General Musa stated, highlighting Turji’s precarious position following intensified military action.
However, the Defence Chief underscored that surrender would not absolve individuals like Turji of responsibility for their crimes. “Anybody who has engaged in killing innocent citizens must not be spared. People like him should not be allowed to remain,” he affirmed.
The military continues to prioritize operations targeting terrorist elements while emphasizing accountability for those responsible for atrocities against civilians.
