TINUBU ARRIVES BAYELSA TO COMMISSION PROJECTS AFTER SNUBBING LAGOS (VIDEO)

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Bayelsa State to inaugurate a series of major infrastructure projects executed by the state government.

He was received on arrival by Governor Douye Diri, alongside the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, and other top officials.

During the visit, the President is expected to commission the 2.7-kilometre dualised New Yenagoa City Road, which links the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas base at Obunagha to the Onopa area of the state capital.

He will also inaugurate the 630-metre Angiama-Oporoma Bridge, a key project connecting Yenagoa to several coastal communities across the River Nun in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.

Another highlight of the visit is the commissioning of a 60-megawatt gas turbine plant at Elebele, designed to improve electricity supply in Yenagoa and surrounding areas.

Tinubu’s itinerary also includes a meeting with key stakeholders at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Memorial Banquet Hall in Government House, Yenagoa, before departing the state.

The visit comes shortly after the President delegated Godswill Akpabio to represent him at similar project commissioning events in Lagos State hosted by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Speaking on the President’s absence in Lagos, Akpabio explained that the demands of national leadership often make it difficult for him to attend every engagement. Presidential aide Sunday Dare also noted that Tinubu had been focused on pressing security matters across the country.

Despite the scheduling concerns, the Bayelsa visit underscores ongoing efforts by both federal and state governments to showcase infrastructure development and boost economic activities in the region.
