President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Lagos State to begin his Christmas and New Year holidays. The Presidential jet landed at the Presidential Wing of Murtala Mohammed International Airport at 3:23 pm on Wednesday.
Tinubu’s arrival follows his presentation of the 2025 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the National Assembly. The N47.9 trillion budget, titled “The Restoration Budget: Securing Peace, Rebuilding Prosperity,” allocates N4.91 trillion to Defence and Security, N4.06 trillion to Infrastructure, N3.52 trillion to Education, and N2.48 trillion to Health.
According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President was welcomed at the airport by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, and other cabinet members.
The statement read:
“President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Lagos State to spend the Christmas and New Year holidays. Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, and cabinet members received the President at the Presidential Wing of Murtala Mohammed International Airport.”
Tinubu is expected to spend the festive season in Lagos after fulfilling his duties in Abuja, including the landmark presentation of the 2025 federal budget.
