President Bola Tinubu has criticized organizers of food distribution programs following reports of fatal stampedes at such events.
Speaking during his first presidential media chat in Lagos, the President described the incidents as “a grave error on the part of the organizers.”
Reflecting on his personal experience, Tinubu mentioned that for over 25 years, he has successfully distributed food and other items, including monetary gifts, from his Bourdillon residence without issues.
“If you do not have enough to give, don’t publicize it,” Tinubu advised, emphasizing the importance of proper planning and discretion in organizing such activities to avoid chaos.
