President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Bola Oyebamiji, former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), on being nominated as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2026 Osun State election.

The congratulatory message was shared in a statement on Saturday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
President Tinubu also commended the APC’s Osun State chapter for the unity and spirit of reconciliation that marked the primary election, which was conducted through affirmation.
He praised the other aspirants who voluntarily stepped down for Oyebamiji, highlighting their demonstration of party loyalty and commitment to the APC’s principles.

The President urged Oyebamiji to exercise magnanimity in victory by including all party leaders and former aspirants, ensuring cohesion and inclusivity as the party progresses toward the general election.

“The journey to reclaim Osun State for the progressive fold in the 2026 governorship election has begun. I call on all members and leaders of APC in the state to stay focused, united, and determined. Victory is within reach, and together, we will achieve it,” President Tinubu said.

Oyebamiji was confirmed as the winner of the APC primary election held on Saturday. The exercise, chaired by Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo in Osogbo, saw party delegates unanimously affirming his candidacy, according to the presidential statement.
