President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated a Committee on Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilisation to address internal disputes within the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The committee is chaired by Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, with former APC legal adviser Muiz Banire serving as member and secretary. Its membership includes APC governors, members of the Federal Executive Council and other key party stakeholders.

Other members are Adamu Aliero; Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; and Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Hope Uzodimma.
Also appointed are Governors Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Bassey Otu (Cross River), Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Uba Sani (Kaduna) and Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers).

The committee further includes the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle; and former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello.
Speaking at the inauguration, Governor Buni thanked President Tinubu for the confidence reposed in him and other members, pledging that the committee would approach its task with commitment and responsibility.

He said the committee would embark on strategic consultations to develop inclusive and lasting solutions to party disputes, ensuring that aggrieved members feel a sense of belonging. He added that proactive measures would also be adopted to address potential conflicts.
Buni urged members to put the party’s collective interest above personal considerations in carrying out their assignment.

Earlier, at the 15th National Executive Committee meeting of the APC in Abuja, President Tinubu stressed the importance of unity and tolerance within the party. He reminded leaders that the APC was built on progressive ideals, inclusiveness and respect for diverse opinions.
“We must continue to be resolute that this democracy we have taken into our hands must not fail,” the President said. “We must be accommodating and tolerant. That is the only way we can remain resilient.”
