#Tinubu Reaffirms Support for Ghana, Hails Unbreakable Bond with Nigeria

Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has pledged unwavering support for Ghana’s newly inaugurated administration under President John Mahama. Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony in Accra on Tuesday, Tinubu highlighted the strong bond between the two nations, stating, “We are your brothers and sisters. The bond is strong and cannot be broken.”

Tinubu praised Mahama’s electoral victory as a significant milestone for democracy in West Africa, describing it as a testament to Africa’s capability for democratic and productive governance. “This election lays to rest doubts about Ghana and Africa’s democratic potential. Ghana has resoundingly answered that question,” he said.

The Nigerian leader emphasized that Africa must focus on its path to progress, saying, “We have nothing to prove to anyone except ourselves. Together, we shall lift our nations out of poverty and build resilient economies at our own pace.”

In a speech rich with symbolism, Tinubu likened Ghana’s progress to a rising “Black Star” illuminating the continent, inspiring unity and shared hope. He called for continued collaboration across Africa to overcome challenges such as poverty, youth unemployment, and instability.

Reflecting on the shared history and vision of African pioneers like Ghana’s Kwame Nkrumah, Tinubu noted, “Ghana draws strength from its great leaders, just as Nigeria does from hers. May we always walk in their spirit, fostering harmony and cooperation.”

He lauded President Mahama as a leader of vision and dedication, expressing confidence in his ability to bring positive change to Ghana and the subregion. Tinubu also emphasized the need for strengthened ties between Nigeria and Ghana to advance regional integration and prosperity.

“With laser focus, we can address pressing concerns and create a future filled with hope and opportunity,” Tinubu concluded, praying for the continued growth of Ghana’s democracy and the success of Mahama’s administration.
