The Book of Foods and Meals (Kitab al-It’imah)
Narrated `Aisha:
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) used to love sweet edible things and honey.
Sahih al-Bukhari 5431
NOTE
1. Imam al-Bukhari collected this hadith under the chapter heading Sweet edible things and honey.. This hadith is part of a lomger hadith that described the Prophet’s visitation to his wives after ‘Asr prayer and took honey in the house of Zaynab bint Jahsh in one of those instances (Tafsir Surah At-Tahrim). Allah has made lawful the good and pure things for His servants. He said: “This day, all good and pure things have been made lawful for you” (Surah Al-Ma’idah ayah 5), and He also said: “They ask you what has been made lawful for them. Say, ‘Lawful for you are all good and pure things’” (Surah Al-Ma’idah ayah 4).
2. al-Hafidh Ibn Hajar, in his explanation of this hadith, stated that the Prophet ﷺ loved honey and sweet foods, which are part of the pure and wholesome things Allah permitted. His love for them was not out of excessive desire but simple enjoyment when available. This shows it is permissible to eat sweet and delicious foods from various kinds, whether natural or prepared, as long as they are lawful. Some early ascetics avoided such foods out of humility and a desire for reward in the Hereafter, not because they were prohibited. – Fathul Baari, Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani
3. The hadith shows that it is permissible to eat delicious and wholesome foods from one’s lawful provision, as this does not contradict modesty or self-discipline (zuhd), especially when done without excess. Based on the context of other more detailed hadith about the incident of the Prophet taking honey in the house of Zaynab bint Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with her), that t also permits a man who divides his time among his wives to enter another wife’s house during the day for a need, though without intimacy, and to eat or drink there outside her allotted day if it is not a main meal. Additionally, the Prophet ﷺ loved sweet foods such as honey, appreciated pleasant fragrances, disliked foul odors, and was always careful to maintain cleanliness and good scent.
O Allah! Provide us with lawful (halal), pure, and sufficient sustenance. Enrich us with Your grace, needing nothing from anyone besides You. Make us content with Your provisions, and place blessings in our family and children. Ãmeen

Alhamdulillah, for today — the blessed day of gathering, the day of mercy, forgiveness, and answered prayers.

Jummat Mubarak — A Prayer for Light on the 25th of Rabiʿ al-Thani 1447 AH.
Qur’anic Verse:
“فَاذْكُرُونِي أَذْكُرْكُمْ وَاشْكُرُوا لِي وَلَا تَكْفُرُونِ”
“So remember Me; I will remember you. Be grateful to Me and do not deny Me.” — Surah Al-Baqarah (2:152)
Jummat Prayer:
Alhamdulillah, for this sacred Jumuʿah,
The 25th of Rabiʿ al-Thani — a dawn kissed by mercy.
Ya Allah, Al-Nūr (The Light), brighten our hearts as You brighten the heavens.
Fill our souls with sakīnah — divine calm — and our tongues with dhikr, sweet remembrance.
On this holy day, we bow in gratitude.
Wash away our sins as rain purifies the earth.
Grant us barakah in our homes, rizq in our labor,
And rahmah that overflows into the lives we touch.
Ya Rahman, Ya Rahim,
Bless our Ummah with unity and strength.
Let our faith rise like the morning light,
Shining ever brighter until Your pleasure surrounds us.
O Lord, accept our salah, our fasting, our charity, and our love for You.
Today, we stand in awe — hearts lifted, hands open, souls renewed.
Ya Allah, make this Jummat a door to every answered prayer.
Ameen.

Jummat Mubarak
A Du‘a for Forgiveness, Guidance, and Blessing
25th Rabiʿ al-Thani 1447 A.H.
Qur’anic Reflection:
> اللّهُ نُورُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ
“Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth.” — Surah An-Nur (24:35)
> رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
“Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.” — Surah Al-A‘raf (7:23)
The Prayer:
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil-‘Alamin,
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all worlds —
The One who awakens hearts after darkness and forgives sins that no one else sees.
Ya Allah, Astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk —
We seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.
Cleanse our hearts from pride, envy, and deceit.
Cover us with rahmah (mercy) that never runs dry.
Ya Hafeez (The Protector),
Guard us and our families from harm — seen and unseen.
Place angels at our right and left, before us and behind us.
Shield our homes with barakah (blessing) and peace.
Ya Hadi (The Guide),
Show us the straight path when confusion clouds our vision.
Let our footsteps follow the light of Your wisdom.
Fill our speech with truth, our intentions with sincerity,
And our deeds with goodness that endures beyond the grave.
Ya Razzaq (The Provider),
Open the gates of sustenance and success.
Bless our hands to give, not just to receive.
Replace our worries with sabr (patience) and shukr (gratitude).
Ya Ghafoor, Ya Rahim — Most Forgiving, Most Merciful —
Erase our sins of yesterday,
Protect us today,
And guide us tomorrow toward Jannah.
> رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ
“My Lord, forgive me, my parents, and all the believers on the Day the account is established.” — Surah Ibrahim (14:41)
O Allah, bless this Jummat al-Mubarak with answered prayers,
Increase our iman (faith) and purify our souls.
Make this day a fountain of noor (light), forgiveness, and divine protection.
