In a heartbreaking turn of events, Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has lost his 24-year-old son, Abdulwahab Namadi, barely 24 hours after the death of his mother.
A statement from Hamisu Gumel, the governor’s spokesperson, confirmed that Abdulwahab passed away on Thursday in a road accident along the Dutse-Kafin-Hausa road.
The young man’s death occurred just a day after the governor’s mother passed on Wednesday. Abdulwahab was buried later on Thursday evening in Kafin Hausa town in line with Islamic rites.
The governor expressed his grief in a statement, reflecting on the inevitability of life’s events:
“To Allah belongs that which He has taken, and to Him belongs that which He has given, and everything has an appointed time with Him.”
Governor Namadi described Abdulwahab’s passing as a profound loss, saying:
“With a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I announce the passing of yet another member of my family, my dear son Abdulwahab Umar Namadi. He departed this world this afternoon as a result of a ghastly motor accident along Dutse-Kafin-Hausa Road.”
The late Abdulwahab is survived by his parents and numerous siblings.
This dual tragedy has cast a shadow over the governor’s family, drawing widespread condolences from across the country.
