TROOPS KILL 17 TERRORISTS IN BORNO COMMUNITIES

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in coordination with local vigilantes, successfully intercepted a terrorist supply operation and neutralized multiple insurgents during a pre-dawn ambush on 21 December 2025, military sources have confirmed.

The operation took place in the Sojiri and Kayamla communities of Konduga Local Government Area, Borno State.

According to a credible source, “Acting on verified intelligence about the movement of logistics supplies by suspected JAS/ISWAP operatives, OPHK troops, together with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters, established an interception point between Sojiri and Kayamla villages on the night of 20 December 2025.

“At around 2:24 a.m. on 21 December, suspected insurgents on bicycles carrying supplies arrived at the ambush site, confirming intelligence reports. Concealed troops engaged them decisively.

“The encounter resulted in the neutralization of 17 suspected terrorists, while others fled with gunshot wounds. Confiscated items included bicycles, assorted foodstuffs, drugs, medical supplies, detergents, clothing, bicycle tyres, torchlights, assorted firearms, ammunition, and other logistics materials.

“The ambush team withdrew safely to base at approximately 4:20 a.m. Follow-up operations are ongoing to further secure the area and restrict insurgent mobility.

“The operation highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-led, joint security efforts, demonstrating the continued capability of OPHK and allied forces in degrading terrorist networks and disrupting their supply chains. Troops remain highly motivated, with fighting efficiency assessed as strong and unwavering,” the source added.
