United States President Donald Trump has suggested that the U.S. may soon begin scaling back its military operations against Iran, following weeks of intense conflict in the Middle East.

The conflict, which started in late February 2026 with joint U.S. and Israeli strikes, has caused significant casualties and disrupted key infrastructure, including energy facilities.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump indicated that the U.S. is approaching its objectives, writing, “We are getting very close to meeting our objectives…” He added that the country is considering reducing its military involvement, stating, “…as we consider winding down our great Military efforts in the Middle East…”

Trump also said that other nations using the Hormuz Strait should take responsibility for its security, emphasizing that the United States would no longer guard the vital shipping route.
Despite these statements, uncertainty remains as U.S. forces continue to be deployed to the region. Iran has maintained retaliatory strikes, and regional tensions remain high, raising concerns about possible escalation and impacts on global energy markets. Analysts note that while Trump’s comments hint at a potential withdrawal, no formal timeline has been set, and the situation remains fluid.
