A British nuclear-powered submarine, HMS Anson, has been deployed to the Arabian Sea, carrying long-range cruise missiles amid rising tensions in the Middle East involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.

The Astute-class vessel is armed with Tomahawk missiles capable of striking targets up to 1,000 miles away and also carries advanced Spearfish torpedoes. It reportedly departed from Perth, Australia, earlier this month and is believed to be operating in deep waters north of the Arabian Sea, though its exact location remains classified.

The deployment comes as the UK reviews its military readiness in the region and expands support for potential U.S. operations, including granting American forces access to British bases for strikes related to threats against the Strait of Hormuz—a vital route for global oil and gas exports.

A coalition of countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Japan, has issued a statement affirming their commitment to secure maritime routes and condemning attacks on commercial shipping and energy infrastructure.

The situation reflects escalating hostilities in the region, with Iran conducting missile and drone attacks on Israeli and U.S.-linked targets, raising concerns about a broader conflict.
