The Venezuelan government strongly criticized Washington on Tuesday following US President Donald Trump’s announcement of a blockade targeting sanctioned oil tankers entering and leaving the country. Caracas warned that the move could severely damage the nation’s already fragile economy.
In a statement, President Nicolás Maduro’s administration accused the United States of attempting to “steal the riches of our homeland” through what it described as an “utterly irrational” naval blockade.
