π Childhood Cancer Awareness Month ποΈ
Every year, 400,000 children are diagnosed with cancer. Survival rates, however, depend largely on where they live:
-
In high-income countries, more than 80% survive.
-
In low- and middle-income countries, fewer than 30% survive β often due to late or missed diagnosis and limited access to treatment.
β‘οΈ The good news: most childhood cancers are curable with affordable medicines, surgery, and radiotherapy β especially when detected early.
β οΈ Warning signs to watch for:
-
Persistent fever
-
Headaches
-
Bone pain
-
Unexplained weight loss
