2027 Elections: PDP Governors Predict APC’s Rejection by Nigerians After Zamfara Meeting

The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum (PDP-GF) has declared that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is a party “with no agenda and no vision,” predicting that Nigerians will reject it in the 2027 general elections.

This position was made known on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the end of the Forum’s 7th meeting of the year, held at the Government House in Gusau, Zamfara State.

In a communiqué signed by the Forum’s chairman and Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, the PDP governors urged party members across the country to remain united and see the PDP as the only democratic institution capable of restoring Nigeria to the path of good governance and sustainable national development.

The Forum also appreciated members of the party for their loyalty despite what it described as “serious intimidation and anti-democratic actions” by the APC-led Federal Government during recent bye-elections.

The communiqué revealed that the meeting extensively deliberated on key national issues, including the state of the economy, rising insecurity, erosion of democratic values, and ongoing efforts to strengthen the PDP ahead of its forthcoming national convention.

According to the governors, the PDP remains “the viable alternative” for Nigerians seeking change and credible leadership in 2027.
