$350 Million FPSO Departs Dubai For Lagos Port, As Zulum Hails Indimi

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has praised the launch of Nigeria’s first indigenous Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO) vessel, EMEM, owned by oil entrepreneur Alhaji (Dr) Muhammadu Indimi, calling it a landmark for the nation’s industrial and technological growth.

Speaking at the sail-away ceremony on Saturday at Drydocks World in Dubai, Governor Zulum described the EMEM FPSO as more than an engineering feat, highlighting it as a symbol of confidence in Nigeria’s energy sector and the potential of local businesses.

Valued at $315 million, the FPSO has a storage capacity of one million barrels and can produce 30,000 barrels of oil per day. Fully funded by Oriental Energy Resources Limited, it will operate in Petroleum Mining Lease (PML) 15, boosting national oil output and revenue while supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Governor Zulum commended Dr. Indimi and his team for demonstrating Nigerian private sector capability in fostering economic growth, creating jobs, and competing globally. He also thanked the UAE for hosting the event, reflecting strong ties in trade and innovation.

The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including the Governors of Adamawa and Akwa Ibom States, Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, and representatives from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).Headline news
