Major General Chris Jemitola (rtd), a former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, has passed away after collapsing at the IBB Golf Club on Thursday morning.
Family sources confirmed that Jemitola was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Jemitola’s Career and Legacy
- Served as Obasanjo’s ADC (2003–2007) while holding the rank of Colonel.
- Appointed Director of Defence Information and later served as Defence Attaché at the Nigerian Embassy in Brazil.
- Promoted to Major General in 2014.
- Before his retirement, he held the position of Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP) of the Nigerian Army.
- Worked in the private sector as Senior Advisor for Military Communications at Pinnacle Communications Limited (2019).
Jemitola’s family has yet to issue an official statement regarding his passing.
