Dangote Petroleum Refinery has further reduced the price of diesel to ₦1,020 per litre, down from ₦1,075, continuing its trend of price cuts since it began production in January 2024, when diesel sold for ₦1,700 per litre.
This latest ₦55 per litre reduction comes amid reports that the refinery had absorbed over ₦10 billion in costs to stabilize fuel prices during the festive season.
Industry analysts say this move brings Nigeria closer to self-sufficiency in petroleum products, with major international companies now purchasing refined fuel from the country. This development is expected to boost Nigeria’s position in the global energy market.
