Maharazu Tsiga, former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has been released after spending 22 days in the hands of kidnappers.
HEADLINENEWS gathered that Tsiga is currently receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital for security reasons.
While there were initial reports that the notorious bandit kingpin Babaro had demanded N250 million for Tsiga’s release, it remains uncertain if any money was paid to secure his freedom.
HEADLINENEWS had earlier reported that the former NYSC DG was abducted on February 6th, 2025, by an unspecified number of bandits who attacked his residence in Tsiga village, located in the Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The incident resulted in two individuals sustaining injuries, with one of the gunmen mistakenly shot dead by a member of his own gang.
This violent attack on Tsiga’s residence and his subsequent abduction underscore the ongoing security challenges faced by communities in the region, particularly with regard to banditry and kidnapping
