The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested Fatima Mohammed for allegedly strangling her 20-year-old co-wife, Hajara Isa, and attempting to destroy evidence by setting her remains on fire.
The tragic incident occurred on February 28, 2025, in Anguwan Sarakuna, Bauchi. According to reports, Fatima first strangled Hajara before pouring boiling water on her body and setting it on fire using a plastic sack in an attempt to cover up the crime.
Authorities confirmed Fatima’s arrest, stating that she has confessed to the crime. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation. Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Muhammad, has assigned a special team to ensure a thorough and professional inquiry, with justice as the ultimate goal.
