Abuja, Nigeria – In a significant political development, two members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the House of Representatives have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Hon. Jallo Hussaini Mohammed, representing Igabi Federal Constituency of Kaduna State, and Hon. Adamu Tanko, representing Gurara/Suleja/Tafa Federal Constituency of Niger State, announced their defection earlier today.

This move adds to a series of recent defections favoring the APC. Notably, in February 2025, three PDP members of the Kaduna State House of Assembly—Henry Mara (Jaba Constituency), Emmanuel Kantiok (Zonkwa Constituency), and Samuel Kambai (Zango Constituency)—defected to the APC, citing alignment with the state’s leadership under Governor Uba Sani.

These developments reflect shifting political allegiances within Nigeria’s legislative bodies, potentially impacting the balance of power ahead of future elections.
