Here are some Hadiths relevant to the 20th day of Ramadan, focusing on the virtues of the last ten nights, seeking forgiveness, and increasing worship:
1. Virtues of the Last Ten Nights
Aishah (RA) reported:
“When the last ten nights of Ramadan began, the Prophet (ﷺ) would tighten his waistbelt, spend the night in worship, and wake his family.”
(Bukhari, Muslim)
This Hadith reminds us to increase our devotion and acts of worship as we enter the final days of Ramadan.
2. Seeking Laylatul Qadr
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Seek Laylatul Qadr in the last ten nights of Ramadan, in the odd nights.”
(Bukhari, Muslim)
Since Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Decree) could fall on the 21st night, the 20th day is a reminder to prepare spiritually and engage in extra worship, dua, and Quran recitation.
3. Dua for Forgiveness
Aishah (RA) asked the Prophet (ﷺ):
“O Messenger of Allah, if I find Laylatul Qadr, what should I say?”
(Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa‘fu ‘anni)”
(“O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me.”)
(Tirmidhi)
This dua should be recited frequently as we approach Laylatul Qadr.
4. Rewards for Fasting
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Whoever fasts Ramadan with faith and seeking reward, all his past sins will be forgiven.”
(Bukhari, Muslim)
The 20th day reminds us that we are nearing the end of Ramadan, and we should make the most of this blessed time to seek Allah’s mercy and forgiveness.
May Allah grant us the strength to worship sincerely in these final days and bless us with the rewards of Laylatul Qadr.

Here are some Qur’anic verses that are relevant for the 20th day of Ramadan, focusing on forgiveness, worship, and the last ten nights:
1. Seeking Forgiveness
“And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a Paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the righteous.”
(Surah Aal-e-Imran 3:133)
This verse encourages us to increase our repentance and seek Allah’s mercy, especially in the last ten nights of Ramadan.
2. The Power of Laylatul Qadr
“Indeed, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Decree. And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.”
(Surah Al-Qadr 97:1-3)
Since Laylatul Qadr could be near, this verse reminds us of its immense blessings and the need to seek it in the last ten nights.
3. Increasing Worship in the Last Ten Nights
“And worship your Lord until certainty (death) comes to you.”
(Surah Al-Hijr 15:99)
As the final phase of Ramadan begins, this verse encourages us to remain steadfast in worship and devotion.
4. The Reward for the Righteous
“Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and rivers, in a seat of honor near a Sovereign, Perfect in Ability.”
(Surah Al-Qamar 54:54-55)
This verse serves as motivation to remain steadfast in good deeds, reminding us of the reward awaiting the righteous in Jannah.
May Allah accept our worship, forgive our sins, and grant us the blessings of the last ten nights of Ramadan.

Allahumma ihdini fi man hadayt, wa ‘afini fi man ‘afayt, wa tawallani fi man tawallayt, wa barik li fima a‘tayt, wa qini sharra ma qadayt, innaka taqdi wa la yuqda ‘alayk, wa innahu la yadhillu man walayt, tabarakta Rabbana wa ta‘alayt.
Translation: O Allah, guide me among those whom You have guided, grant me well-being among those whom You have granted well-being, take me as a friend among those whom You have taken as a friend, bless me in what You have given, protect me from the evil of what You have decreed. Indeed, You decree, and none can decree over You. And none whom You have befriended shall be disgraced. Blessed are You, our Lord, and Most Exalted.

Here is a special dua for Laylatul Qadr to invoke Allah’s mercy and sustenance:
اللهم إنك عفو كريم تحب العفو فاعف عني، اللهم ارزقني من فضلك، وارحمني برحمتك، واغفر لي ذنوبي، ووسع لي في رزقي، وبارك لي في حياتي، واغنني بحلالك عن حرامك، وبفضلك عمن سواك.
Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun kareemun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa‘fu ‘anni. Allahumma urzuqni min fadhlik, warhamni birahmatik, waghfir li dhunubi, wa wassi‘ li fi rizqi, wa barik li fi hayati, waghnini bihalalika ‘an haramika, wabifadhlika ‘amman siwak.
Translation:
O Allah, You are Most Forgiving and Generous, and You love to forgive, so forgive me. O Allah, grant me sustenance from Your bounty, have mercy on me with Your mercy, forgive my sins, expand my provision, bless my life, and make me self-sufficient with what is halal, keeping me away from what is haram. Enrich me with Your grace so that I depend on none but You.
This dua encompasses forgiveness, mercy, sustenance, blessings, and self-sufficiency—everything we seek on this blessed night. May Allah accept our prayers and grant us His mercy and abundant sustenance. Ameen.
