*Today is 23rd of Ramadhan 1446AH (23 March 2025)*
*Ramadhan 1446AH Nuggets*
*The Prophet ﷺ was most generous in Ramadhan and especially in the last 10 days*
Narrated Ibn Abbas:
*The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was the most generous of people and he was even more generous in Ramadhan when Jibril (angel Gabriel) would meet him. He would meet him every night of Ramadhan to study the Qur’an. Thus, the Prophet (ﷺ) would be more generous than a nourishing wind.*

*NOTES 📝*
1. Shaykh Nasirdeen al-Albaani highlights the unmatched generosity of the Prophet ﷺ, especially in Ramadhan. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) described him as the most generous of people, and his generosity increased even further in Ramadhan due to the blessings of the month. His generosity peaked when he met Jibreel (peace be upon him) each night to review the Qu’ran, elevating his spirit and inspiring him to give without hesitation. This teaches us that virtue increases in an environment of righteousness, and Ramadhan is the perfect opportunity to maximize our good deeds. – Sharh Kitab al-Adab al-Mufrad, al-Albaani
2. The Shaykh further stated that the Prophet’s ﷺ generosity can be seen in three levels: he was always the most generous, even more so in Ramadhan, and at his peak when meeting Jibreel. His giving was like the freely blowing wind, benefiting all without discrimination. Even when people asked for charity without rightful need, he still gave, not out of obligation, but to maintain his noble character and encourage generosity in others. He warned, however, that wealth taken unjustly would become a burden in the Hereafter. This shows that true generosity is not about how much we give but about giving sincerely for Allah’s sake. – Sharh Kitab al-Adab al-Mufrad, al-Albaani
3. Your wealth won’t follow you to the grave, but your Sadaqah will await you in the Hereafter. What you give today for the sake of Allah becomes a treasure for you in eternity. So give generously, o believer, knowing that Allah replaces and rewards beyond measure. Ramadhan, especially in these last ten nights, is a golden opportunity to give Zakah and Sadaqah, seeking Allah’s pleasure. Just as the Prophet’s ﷺ generosity multiplied in this sacred time, let us follow his example and give freely, knowing that every act of charity is an investment in our eternal success. The hadith also highlights the merit of extensive recitation of the Qur’an during Ramadhan. Additionally, it urges scholars and seekers of knowledge to engage in collaborative learning to safeguard knowledge from being forgotten or lost.
*O Allah, You are Al-‘Afuww (The One Who pardons greatly). You love to pardon, so pardon (forgive) us. O Allah, make us from those who fast Ramadhan, and become successful from our worship on Laylatul-Qadr … Ãmeen*
Here are some Qur’anic verses that are relevant to the 23rd day of Ramadan, focusing on Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Decree), fasting, and seeking forgiveness:
1. Surah Al-Qadr (97:1-5) – The Night of Decree
Since the 23rd night is one of the last ten nights of Ramadan, it may be Laylatul Qadr, which is better than a thousand months.
“Indeed, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Decree. And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit (Jibreel) descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.”
(Surah Al-Qadr 97:1-5)
2. Surah Al-Baqarah (2:185) – The Purpose of Ramadan
This verse explains why Ramadan is special and the purpose of fasting.
“The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights (the new moon of) the month, let him fast it…”
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:185)
3. Surah Az-Zumar (39:53) – Allah’s Mercy is Greater Than Sins
This verse reminds us that Allah forgives all sins when we sincerely repent, making it a perfect verse for the 23rd night of Ramadan.
“Say: O My servants who have transgressed against themselves (by sinning), do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.”
(Surah Az-Zumar 39:53)
4. Surah Al-Imran (3:133) – Seeking Forgiveness & Paradise
Ramadan is a time to seek forgiveness and strive for Jannah (Paradise).
“And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a Paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the righteous.”
(Surah Al-Imran 3:133)
5. Surah Al-Baqarah (2:186) – Allah is Close & Answers Du’as
This verse is a reminder that Allah is near and responds to our prayers, especially in Ramadan.
“And when My servants ask you concerning Me, indeed I am near. I respond to the supplication of the supplicant when he calls upon Me…”
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:186)
Conclusion
On this 23rd day of Ramadan, increase in:
✅ Dua & Istighfar (seeking forgiveness)
✅ Qur’an Recitation & Reflection
✅ Night Prayers (Tahajjud & Qiyam al-Layl)
✅ Charity & Good Deeds
May Allah grant you Laylatul Qadr, accept your fasts, and answer all your prayers. Ameen.
