#BREAKING: Nigerian Police Extradite “Killaboi” from Qatar Over Girlfriend’s Murder

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has confirmed the successful extradition of Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, popularly known as Killaboi, from Doha, Qatar, to Nigeria in connection with the murder of his girlfriend, Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe.

In a statement released on Saturday, April 19, 2025, Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, said Nnayereugo was returned to Nigeria in the early hours of the day through a coordinated effort involving the Ministry of Justice, INTERPOL NCB Abuja, and Qatari authorities.

The extradition follows a petition filed by the family of the deceased on September 29, 2024. Investigations revealed that Nnayereugo murdered 21-year-old Augusta, a first-class student of Lead City University, at his Lagos residence on July 13, 2023, before fleeing the country.

Though he released an online video appearing to confess, police say it was a deceptive attempt to derail investigations.

He was first apprehended in Sierra Leone under a false identity but escaped during a prison break in November 2023. Intelligence later tracked him to Qatar, where he lived under another alias—“Toure Abdoulaye”—using a fake Guinean passport.

He was arrested in Doha in February 2025 after INTERPOL confirmed his identity using advanced biometric systems. An official extradition request was subsequently approved by Qatari judicial authorities.

Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, commended the international cooperation that led to the fugitive’s capture and pledged a thorough prosecution.

“This successful operation underscores our commitment to justice and global collaboration in tackling transnational crime,” the IGP stated.
