#BREAKING: House of Reps member Wole Oke dumps PDP

Hon. Oluwole Oke, who represents the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Oke, who currently chairs the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, made the announcement in a letter dated April 16, addressed to the chairman of Ward 7 in Obokun Local Government Area. He explained that his decision followed wide consultations with constituents, political associates, family, and friends.

“I wish to formally notify you that I am resigning my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect,” the letter read. “This was concluded after consultation and engagement with my political associates, family, and friends. It is my wish that you accept my resignation in good faith.”

Though the six-term lawmaker did not disclose his next political move or the party he might join, his resignation comes amid recent tensions and factional disputes within the PDP in his constituency.

Oke’s exit marks a significant shift in Osun State’s political landscape, where he has been a prominent figure for decades.
